Safe, Reliable, Spacious, Adaptable, Low Maint.

by Dave on 9/30/2026 1:46:07 PM

In 2022 when I purchased my Tucson, new vehicles from many manufacturers were hard to find - except for Hyundai. I can safely say that it is one of the best vehicle purchases that I have ever made. The amount of space the Tucson has to carry cargo, especially for camping trips and moving students to/from college is very deceiving when looking at it from the outside. You can easily pack the camping gear needed for 2 adults and 3 teen-age kids into a vehicle and still have space left over to easily seat all 5 passengers without having to cramp any additional bags on the floor or in-between passengers. And for college move-ins with a single student, you can easily Tiger-Tetris in everything you need with room to spare - granted, my current college student is a minimalist in what he brings, however, being my 3rd child to go to college, I could have easily used this vehicle for packing for either of my first 2. Beyond the spaciousness of the vehicle, there is the safety and reliability. Being AWD, the vehicle handles adverse weather conditions - rain, snow, etc.. with excellent handling in both low and high speed conditions. Proximity detection systems work very well, sometimes too well, when it detects the side of the road or a median barrier and alerts you when you are simply trying to make a turn at an intersection; but I'd rather have the notification than not. Excellent fuel milage, extended oil change windows, and a great suspension system - PA Drivers, you know what I'm talking about here - have made this vehicle, for me, one that I have had the least amount expenditures. My biggest cost so far has been the replacement of all 4 of the OEM tires and new brakes - only once each since owning the vehicle. There has only been 1 minor issue that crops up every now and then and that is with the console system and Apple Car Play - there are some occasional connection issues, however, that could be due to iOS updates, app changes, and other factors. Overall, the Tucson is an excellent vehicle and continues to easily handle both the long drives as well as the short ones.…
